Evaluation & Planning
Accident Investigations
Thousands of accidents occur throughout the United States every day. The failure of people, equipment, supplies, or surroundings to behave or react as expected causes most of them. Accident investigations determine how and why these failures occur. By using the information gained through an investigation, a similar, or perhaps more disastrous, accident may be prevented.
Business Continuity & Disaster Planning
The list of potentially business-disrupting events seems almost endless: viruses, power blackouts, natural disasters and even terrorist events. Good business continuity plans will keep your company up and running.
Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Outsourcing
The reasons to outsource EHS functions are as unique to both small and large clients. Outsourcing will enable companies to respond quickly to change, contain costs and risks and gain comprehensive expertise.
Ergonomic Projects
The purpose of the Ergonomic Project is to prevent the pain and suffering, as well as costs to the organizations, associated with ergonomic related injuries. This is done through a combination of workplace training, evaluation of workstations and work practices, and the implementation of ergonomic control strategies for construction, manufacturing and office.
Industrial Hygiene Monitoring
The discipline of industrial hygiene is concerned with identifying and controlling potential chemical, physical, and biological workplace hazards by evaluating processes and facility designs using the following steps:
1. Anticipation
2. Recognition
3. Evaluation
4. Control
Using pre-established and approved methods determined by the nature of the hazard, industrial hygienists take qualitative and quantitative measurements of potential hazards in the workplace. The results are compared to recommended exposure guidelines or consensus standards. If the results reveal a possible health hazard, industrial hygienists will recommend methods for controlling the hazard. These methods may include engineering controls and appropriate safety practices for personnel, such as the substitution of safer materials, or the use of ventilation and personal protective equipment.
Job Safety Analysis
A Job Safety Analysis (JSA) is a method that can be used to identify, analyze and record 1) the steps involved in performing a specific job, 2) the existing or potential safety and health hazards associated with each step, and 3) the recommended action(s)/procedure(s) that will eliminate or reduce these hazards and the risk of a workplace injury or illness.
Noise Dosimetry
A noise dosimeter is a small, light device that clips to a person’s belt with a small microphone that fastens to the person’s collar, close to an ear. The dosimeter stores the noise level information and carries out an averaging process. It is useful in industry where noise usually varies in duration and intensity, and where the person changes locations.
Safety Audits
The growing use of the independent 3rd Party safety and environmental audit process by management to verify organizational performance is driven by competitive pressures, insurance costs and even legislative fiat such as the Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX). Regular EHS auditing is the foundation of the system of continuous improvement of companies with excellent safety and environmental performance records. IESS’ familiarity with quality systems permits us to provide our clients best practices in monitoring the performance of their Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) management systems.
Self-Insured Plan (SIP) Audits
SIP requires an evaluation of the new applicant’s injury and illness prevention program. A compliance inspection by a private, independent, registered professional safety engineer, certified industrial hygienist, or certified safety professional is part of the application process. At minimum, the applicant must be in compliance with Cal/OSHA safety and health regulations.

Good write-up. I certainly love this website. Continue the good work!
I like what you guys are up too. This kind of clever work and reporting!
Keep up the amazing works guys I’ve added you guys to my personal blogroll.
Posts like this brhitgen up my day. Thanks for taking the time.
You actually make it seem so easy with your presentation but I find this matter to be really
something which I think I would never understand. It seems too complicated and extremely broad for me.
I am looking forward for your next post, I’ll try to get
the hang of it!
Hello would you mind stating which blog platform you’re using?
I’m going to start my own blog in the near future but I’m having a tough time selecting between BlogEngine/Wordpress/B2evolution and Drupal.
The reason I ask is because your layout seems different then most blogs and I’m looking for something unique.
P.S Sorry for getting off-topic but I had to ask!
